Marriage License in hand
We went down to the courthouse and paid for the marriage license and I also picked up new tags for my car. The marriage license was more expensive, not sure what that says about the state of Texas’ fees.
Also picked out a nice new jacket, shirt, tie and pants to wear on our wedding day.

It's all about details now
Robin and I went over the list of things left to do and now it is all about the details. We have a few outstanding tasks, but I think we have almost covered most of the big details. Going to the courthouse tomorrow to get the marriage license and have a meeting scheduled with the minister tomorrow as well.
I started packing
My parents came down and picked up some big items that Robin and I don’t need so now I am in my apartment with no kitchen table, no couch and the boys bunkbeds are gone. Little by little I am packing up my life to get ready to move it to Robin’s
Rings picked up!
The date is just around the corner, I picked up the rings today and they look very nice. Briana asked why I didn’t have any diamonds on my ring and I just looked at her and said that is just how it is….the women get the sparkly stuff and the guys are stuck with a round piece of metal (just kidding)
Wedding Rings Purchased!
Robin and I finally found our wedding bands. Of course with her small fingers, we have to get hers sized and with my large fingers they almost have to do my ring custom. Hopefully mine will turn out ok. That is one more thing off the list. The rings should be ready by the end of the week.
Robin found her dress
After an exhaustive coast to coast search, Robin finally found her dress but she had to go to San Antonio to get it. Guess I will see what all the fuss is about on the wedding day.
So Much to Do, So Little Time
I think it has dawned on us both we have lots left to do. A little bit of stress is creeping in. Robin now says we should just go to Vegas. Should we let Elvis marry us?
Starting the Moving Process
Although I have until April 30 to move out of my apartment, I started boxing things up and decided to take a few things over to Robin’s house so I don’t have to deal with it all at once.

Have the minister
Robin confirmed the date with minister to perform the ceremony. We have a place, we have a time and we have someone to make it official.
Looking for Wedding Bands
Robin and I went looking at wedding bands last night. Found a few we liked, but I think we would have to take out a second mortgage to buy them. We will continue to look a bit thought and see what else we can find.
Not Much Going On
Not much going on with wedding plans today. Both of us having to focus on work and kids. Stay tuned….same bat time, same bat channel.
Nice place to get married
Robin and I looked at a small intimate place to perform the ceremony yesterday. It is outdoors so cross your fingers for great weather in April.
Wedding Plans
I proposed to Robin on Feb 4th while we watched the sunset in San Diego. We decided there is no reason to have a long drawn out engagement, so we have set a date of April 17th.
We will update our plans and all the fun and excitement here, so stay tuned.

The twins at Rice University basketball camp
The twins spent the week at Rice University at their basketball camp. The boys were moved up from the 9th-10th grade camp and played with 11th-12th grade boys. The head of the camp, Coach Herndon, has worked with the boys most of the year and decided they were up to the challenge of playing with older boys. Reid won an award because his team won the camp tournament at the end of the week. They...

Mammaw's Funeral
Today we buried our Mammaw. I had to serve as a pallbearer and my sons were honorary pallbearers. It was tough, but I realized that she had a long and fruitful life. She influenced not only her family, but everyone she came in contact with. Indirectly everyone that I influence and my children influence, she will continue to influence. Although she never traveled far from home, she has been...

Sad Day for the Family
Today I found out that my grandmother and the kids great-grandmother passed away at her home. She was 91 years old and she will be greatly missed. Luckily my kids knew her very well and our last visit was for Easter.
This will be the first close family member that my daughter has lost and the last time the twins lost a close family member was when they were very young.
Creekwood Middle School Sports Awards Dinner
Kelby and Reid both won numerous awards at the 8th grade sports banquet. They were both recognized for all the sports they played in. Kelby won a special award for cross-country for finishing in the top 20 (out of 100 runners) at the district meet. Reid also won the “Colt” award for track and field. Both Kelby and Reid shared the “Heart and Hustle” award for basketball....
May 3 Basketball Tournament
The boys team did not win a game in this tournament. However Kelby took over as starting point guard and he did a good job. I hope this is the start of something great for him.

They will play Sunday in the 3rd place game.
District Track Meet #2
Tonight the boys had the second night of the 8th grade district track meet. Overall they competed well, but it was a tough night. The boys team put up a fight all night but ended up placing 4th as a team. Reid competed in the 4 x 100m relay, 4 x 200m relay and 200 m dash. Kelby competed in the 400 m dash and 4 x 400 m relay. 2.15.2009 Track Meet
The boys had another track meet held at Kingwood High School. Reid competed in the long jump, triple jump, 4 X 100 and 4 X 200 relay. Overall his relay team came in second in the 4 X 200 during this meet, however a dropped baton on the 4 X 100 meant they came in last.
Kelby ran in the 4 X 400 where the team finished second. Kelby also ran the 400 meter dash where he finished strong but was...

Briana's First School Field Trip
Today Briana and her class took a field trip to the Houston Zoo. Dad joined the class and volunteered as a chaperone. Our group was able to visit the sea lions, red panda, giraffes, elephants, zebras, tiger, lion, monkeys and many other animals. Briana and Dad were able to stay behind and spend some time at the zoo together viewing the snakes and exotic birds. It was a perfect day.
Kelby and Reid’s team finished 1-2 in this weekends tournament with one of the losses coming at the end of the game. Unfortunately several of the kids lack team discipline and I feel we are in for a long season if this continues.

IT Problem (very funny)
Dear Tech Support: Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0. I soon noticed that the new program began unexpected child processing that took up a lot of space and valuable resources. In addition, Wife 1.0 installed itself into all other programs and now monitors all other system activity. Applications such as Poker Night 10.3 , Football 5.0 , Hunting and Fishing 7.5 , and Racing 3.6....
